What is Patina?

(also called tarnish)

Patina naturally occurs when most metals are exposed to oxygen. Brass, nugold, bronze and copper will all oxidize over time changing color, often darkening. Things like humidity, contact with water and other liquids can speed up this process significantly and unevenly.

Many people like the antique look these metals take on. If you don't, patina can easily be removed with a pro polish pad (provided), #0000 extra fine steel wool, or even ketchup!
